Though you might recognize Maj. Gen. Paul E. Vallely as the senior military analyst who appeared so many times on Fox News Channel from 2000 to 2007, I recognize the retired Army officer as another distinguished American who’s offered a glowing endorsement of my soon-to-be-released book, THE CLAPPER MEMO:
“Bob McCarty has uncovered a high-tech ‘turf war’ pitting those who want the best for our troops against others who seem to be focused on their own self-interests. Sadly, it seems the wrong people are winning this war. I highly recommend THE CLAPPER MEMO.” — Maj. Gen. Paul Vallely, U.S. Army (Ret.)
A brief look at his bio (below) adds weight to his words:
A 1961 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, General Vallely went on to serve more than three decades in the U.S. Army. Along with combat service in Vietnam, his resume includes more than 15 years experience in Special Operations, Psychological and Civil-Military Operations. He retired from the U.S. Army in 1991 after serving as Deputy Commanding General, U.S. Army Pacific in Honolulu, Hawaii.
General Vallely has been a military analyst on television and radio for more than ten years. He is also a guest lecturer on national security, international political, economic issues, strategic planning matters and the global war against radical Islam and other threats to America. He has also authored and co-authored several books. Among them is Endgame – The Blueprint for Victory in the War on Terror,a book he wrote with Lt. Gen. Thomas McInerney, a retired U.S. Air Force officer.
Today, General Vallely is a member and founder of the Iran Policy Committee and serves as chairman of two highly-respected organizations: Stand Up America is an organization working to restore the United States to the greatness it once knew; and Nemo Arms Inc. is a Montana-based weapon systems integrator committed to ensuring those in the Special Operations, federal law enforcement and private sectors have the best tools possible to effectively and confidently carry out their missions.
General Vallely and his wife, Marian, are the co-trustees of the Scott Vallely Soldiers Memorial Fund and reside in Montana. They are deeply involved in state and local issues as well as supporting a multitude of community events and activities.
General Vallely’s endorsement of THE CLAPPER MEMO comes almost 30 days after Capt. Larry W. Bailey offered similar praise. A retired Navy SEAL and former commander of the U.S. Navy’s Basic Underwater Demolition/SEALs Training Program (a.k.a., “B.U.D./S”), Captain Bailey is a founding member of Special Operations Speaks, a group of some 700 former Special Operations professionals who share goals very similar to those of Stand Up America.
