Gold Star Family Member Praises THE CLAPPER MEMO

My latest book, THE CLAPPER MEMO, has earned another strong review from someone with more than a passing interest in the subject matter covered in this book.

LCpl. Greg Buckley Jr., USMC

LCpl. Greg Buckley Jr., USMC

The review was written by Gold Star Aunt MaryLiz Grossetto on the Facebook page of her nephew, Greg Buckley Jr., a 21-year-old Marine lance corporal who died Aug. 10, 2012.  He and two fellow Marines were ambushed — while unarmed and working out in a make-shift gym at their base in Afghanistan — by an Afghan they thought they could trust.  The Afghan who gunned them down turned out to be a Taliban infiltrator who had been allowed to roam freely on the base.

Only slightly modified for format and punctuation, an excerpt from Grossetto’s review appears below:

As most of you know, we are not “military” or “political” people.  Foolishly, we have gone through life thinking the government, no matter which party, has our backs.  As it turns out, THE CLAPPER MEMO exposes just another example of how the only back some of these bureaucrats have is their own.

Read this book & you will see how our government has for many, many years deprived our military of the best possible tool for vetting & weeding out the enemy.  Maybe if the [sic] Computer Voice Stress Analyzer, CVSA, were used in Afghanistan, “Insider Attacks” would be nonexistent.

THE CLAPPER MEMO is a must-read for anyone associated with the military or law enforcement…….. Past or present.  It is a should-read for the rest of America — a real eye opener!

THE CLAPPER MEMO by Bob McCarty.

TheClapperMemoFrontCoverLR 6-5-13THE CLAPPER MEMO captured Grossetto’s attention, in part, because I am the first investigative writer to connect the dots between three memos — including one issued by James R. Clapper Jr. in 2007 while he was serving as Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence — and hundreds of American casualties resulting from “Green-on-Blue” or “Insider” attacks waged by so-called Afghan “allies” wearing the uniforms of their country.  Today, of course, Clapper serves as Director of National Intelligence, our nation’s top intelligence official.

In addition to Grossetto’s praise for the book, it has received endorsements from three well-respected men atop the nation’s military and political scene.

There is, of course, much more to THE CLAPPER MEMO.  To learn about it, you’ll have to order a copy, available in paperback and ebook versions, at Amazon.

Bob McCarty is the author of Three Days In August and THE CLAPPER MEMO. To learn more about either book or to place an order, click on the graphic above.
